Farewell, Edith Reber

Here in the Sylmar community we are saddened to learn of the passing of Edith Reber, who was an active member of so many organizations. Edie is best remembered for her valiant efforts to preserve and protect the historic Pioneer Cemetery, located at the intersection of Foothill Blvd. and Bledsoe St. in Sylmar.  She cared for the cemetery often single-handedly for about 30 years. Services will be Tuesday, May 19 at Oswald Mortuary on Maclay St. in San Fernando at 1 p.m., followed by burial at Eternal Valley Memorial Park on Sierra Highway.  Edie was on her way to being 99 in July. She almost made it to 100, her goal! She will be missed. — Written by Jacky Walker

  1. I will miss her very much. She was and will always be a wonderful woman. I loved her like a mother and like a grandmother to my son Robert. Both he and I have wonderful memories of she and my father together.
